X-Ray Examination

Dental X-Rays show us areas of your mouth and teeth that we cannot get to examine otherwise. They allow us to assess the health of your teeth, gums and bone.

The modern X-Ray machines that we operate expose you to an absolute minimum of radiation – to the extent that lead aprons are not necessary to protect you during exposure. There are a number of different X-ray views taken for different purposes. Your dentist will advise you if it is appropriate for X-Rays to be taken

  • All our X-Ray machines are monitored by the Health Protection Agency
  • All staff operating X-ray machines regularly attend Health & Safety Radiation Update courses
